Considering the Stata Center, this didn't so much surprise me. I remember a few years ago he was commissioned for a playground somewhere. I hope it never got built, it would be so scary.
I don't need more reasons to hate Gehry archetecture. I mean, disability inaccessability is just a specific example of the more general category of "unusable."
I still agree with a friend of mine, she suggested in order to be allowed to design anything every architect must spend a month in wheelchair, then crutches, & then cane so this shit stops.
abjuring accomodating disabled people for artistic purposes I understand, it's kind of pathetic but it at least has some reason
the thing that bugs me are the hundreds of thousands of more or less cookie cutter homes that are hostile to disabled people, they don't even have art on thier side
My parents house has a ramp up to the front door, because when they built it, it was expected that my grandparents would be visiting a lot. I had no idea at the time that it was considered kinda crazy to put a ramp up to a house.
