D'Onofrio, Erbe, and Bogosian are all leavingLaw and Order: Criminal Intent.
With Nicholson already gone, that means that Goldblum's the only returning cast member. Mind you, I liked him, but that's a little extreme, change-wise.
So that makes SVU the only L&O show that's had a semi-steady cast. Slight "whoa" at that. Obviously the changes are expected on Original Flavor, but the other two main shows hadn't changed as much.
I also hope the actors are actually okay; I'd heard a bit about the issues D'Onofrio had had leading to when they first cut back on his schedule.
No no - the producers have said that they'll write them out in a story arc. Thank goodness.
I'm mixed on this news. On the one hand, the only reason I started watching the show was Goren. OTOH, this season's Goren/Eames episodes have sucked giant donkey balls. I think they're done with his character, and if they can't find writers to bring back the Goren we knew and loved (which apparently they can not), then it's time to end the suffering.
I don't mind Jeff Goldblum, but it will definitely go from a "show I must never miss" to a "oh gee I feel like watching TV and it's on" kind of show.
I do like Goldblum (before he joined, I really only watched the D'Onofrio episodes), but without D'Onofrio/Erbe, I'm not sure if it'll be able to keep my interest.
Though i should add that i've liked Jeff Goldblum since I first saw him in The Big Chill and (especially) Silverado. I actually named a character in one of my books after a character he played (Malcolm), because that's how I saw him.
