Hard Case looks to have climbed out of the Dorchester pit, and will return next year with new books by Max Alan Collins and Christa Faust! And Titan Books will be publishing them!

Given Ardai's business savvy and deep pockets (which he doesn't use for Hard Case from what I understand), I knew they'd land on their feet somewhere.

Obviously, pretty much owning a conglomerates and doing high finance money markets as his second job and writing and publishing as the third puts him in a particularly murky territory, but from every angle I've seen, it is a for profit business that has managed to stay in the black better than most in publishing. To me, the definitive proof is that he's a legitimate novelist, writing far better fiction than any CEO type I can think of except for people who have climbed up from fiction. In other words, Hard Case, to the best of my understanding, is not only far from the vanity project it easily could be but is actually a very well-run house. In truth, I'd also like to see D'auria land on his feet. I never thought he was part of the problems Dorchester, um, encountered.
