We're dealing with travel hell this (still in Florida, thanks to the fact that no flights to MA today had a chance in hell of landing). Scheduled to get back tomorrow afternoon, although I'll believe it when I see it (and Delta hasn't even been willing to pick up the phone now for over 24 hours).

In the meantime, my father-in-law has decided that the thing to watch on TV is Jeff Dunham's Absurdly Racist Christmas Special (which I suspect actually has a different name). I was aware of the comedian, but since the only ventriloquists I watch are Jay Johnson on SOAP and Ded Bob at assorted Ren Fests, I hadn't realized just how horribly offensive he was. Bring me ten Dane Cook specials any day of the week.

Dunham has gotten more and more racist over the years actually. Homophobic as well.

Considering as how the forecast says it may still be snowing tomorrow afternoon, I am slightly dubious as to your prospects.

Me too. I wish Delta would just admit it and cancel the flight so we can reschedule.

That'd sure be NICE. But given what you guys've been saying, Delta seems to be being as obstructive as possible under the circumstances, all in all.

sigh.

They have so far gone two whole days with this "due to inclement weather we refuse to answer our phones" message.

Yeah, while I can kind of see being short staffed due to Christmas, it's a /national organization/ which needs to be /doing customer service/, and just... Well, anyway.

Jeff Dunham's Absurdly Racist Christmas Special
I'm sorry. I'm so very, very sorry.

I had the misfortune to happen to catch the first episode of his series (yes, you read that last word correctly). It was like a train ride through Hell -- you kept watching just to see what horrific stereotype he'd pull out, next.

20 minutes was enough, and I took a long, hot shower after.

My ex-boyfriend (the one who decided I was evil for holding liberal/leftist political views) made me sit through one of his shows the last time we spent any time together. He was flabbergasted that I didn't laugh at him and that I found Every. Single. One. of his "dummies" offensive and stereotypical and just plain nauseating.

Good luck getting home.

I don't know, I think he's going to try.

Oh yes, the series was just plain awful. Just a bad idea all around. If the series was even close to being related to his usual material, it might not have been so bad, but the show was just... bad. I think someone told Dunham to try and extend his range and that's what we got.

I am so glad other people hate Dunham as much as I do. His DVD specials keep being put on when I am in pharmaceutical studies and therefore can't leave the room, and the only time I didn't find him nauseating, I was on happy-drugs.

Oh that's hilarious!! All NYC area Airports are still closed and MA got hit harder with the snow than here (and it's pretty bad where I am on Long Island). So, unless they have a few thousand blow torches, you're not going anywhere today :(

I thought that guy was funny when I was like, 12? Back then he mostly stuck to the one weird purple character and only pulled out the racist stereotype cactus a little. Being 12, I thought it was hilarious, because hey, talking cactus, am I right? Then a few years later I was like "holy shit that is so fucking racist why didn't I get that and why are all these grown people laughing at it what the HELL?" AND THEN A FEW YEARS AGO HE POPPED OUT OF WHATEVER HELL DIMENSION HE HAD BEEN SENT TO AND IT'S SO. MUCH. WORSE. Seriously, what the fuck?

Man I hope you guys get home soon.
