School administrators have frequently denied sponsoring, participating in, or allowing the "Day of Silence," but are nonetheless allowing students to be silent without consequences.
Oh, how dare they? They're allowing them to be silent? Really. Next, they'll tolerate sitting down!
Fuck it. Things like this make me want to find an extra kid or three to send to schools on days like this, just to counter these schmucks.

Students were expected not to behave in a distracting manner (such as putting tape on their mouths) but that they were still expected to participate in class. My policy is they have to do the work but I don't ask them any questions.
If I had the option, I would be silent with them.
