jimhines made a well-thought out post on the lack of consent involved in how Bristol Palin lost her virginity.

And sure enough, the rape apologies came flooding in.

(Obvious statement is obvious: While this person is simply doing traditional idiotic victim-blaming, do NOT even think about making some sort of snide remark based on the fact that this happened to a Palin; my disregard for that family's politics does not mean for a second that I'm okay with the incident that Bristol reported, and any person who thinks right-wingers -- or anyone -- deserve sexual assault can get the hell out of my LJ.)

you know, I don't bother to read the comments on TNH's posts, but I had gathered from the way he writes about his commentariat but they are the world's most perfect, awesome, commenting community. I was shocked to read in yendi's post that he still has the kind of people who would accuse girls of lying that early on in a conversation like that.

I don't know why I was shocked. I keep having this crazy faith in human nature for some reason.
