I've finally decided to split my Twitter account up into two.

In general, I've been opposed to splitting Twitter accounts, since I hate single-stream accounts (real people contain multitudes, dammit), but I also recognize that those multitudes don't always overlap. The education, library, ed-tech, etc side of me often includes folks who are interested in the pop culture, sci-fi, comics, TV side, but that's often a one-way stream. So I'm keeping my Yendi Twitter account as my "day-job professional" account, focusing on the ed-tech and other stuff (since I'm already on a number of lists for those topics), and shifting my pop-culture stuff to a new account, Tsalmoth.

It'll probably take a week or so to get that account up and running (I basically need to go through my entire follow-list and see who I should be following on that account, although I probably won't bother doing any unfollowing via Yendi, since this is more about posting than reading), but if you get added by that account, that's why (and since I suspect that most of the folks on LJ are folks with an interest in the pop culture stuff, feel free to add that account).

Why "Tsalmoth?" Why not? We don't know much of what they're like, and what little we know comes via Paarfi, who isn't exactly a reliable source (and was focusing primarily on a few criminals). They could be the house that actually cares about the Dragaeran equivalent of pop culture. And if they're not, there are still folks who strike out against their house destinies, anyway.

And yes, I did consider "Tsalmyth," but decided to go with this one, instead.

Didn't the Tsalmoth (or at least the statuette) have to do with inspiring art, though? So it seems likely that it's a good fit.
