I think they've painted themselves into a corner too. I've thought so for a while, but it really hit my Monday night, when they had yet another love-of-Ted's-life show back up at the end of the episode.

If/when they actually let him meet "the mother", they pretty much start a countdown clock towards the end of the show. On the other hand, there's only so long they can keep finding ways to put it off.
