Gmail down

Gmail seems to be having a global (or at least large-scale) outage. So if you're having email issues, for once it's not one of those random account issues (which strike me once a day), but something nationwide. The apps status shows that all's well, but I think all LJ users know who little a status page means.

ETA: And of course, as soon as I posted this, things seem to have righted themselves.

I think posting about this sort of thing is the internet equivilant of going to the bathroom at a restaurant when you haven't seen the server for a while: it doesn't always solve the problem, but seems to work more often than not.

Delays are a "normal" feature of Gmail. I've had 'song send me something from her gmail account, and it wouldn't arrive in my inbox for an hour. Add external systems into the mix, and anything's possible.
