The best DC news out of NYCC

Okay, JT Krul's departure from Green Arrow had already been announced (and couldn't happen sooner, as it's probably the worst-written book in the line), but after a fill-in run by Giffen and Jurgens, the new writer will be Ann Nocenti!

Yes, her Kid Eternity run was less-than-stellar, but her Daredevil run is under appreciated, and she also wrote some fine Punisher books in the day. She gets the "street-level hero on a crusade" archetype.

This also doubles the number of female writers on the DC New 52 books.

Ann Nocenti was the editor of X-Men during my favorite period (the emergence of Storm, et al) and when I wrote a letter criticizing the lack of allies for mutants, she wrote me back personally. She's always been a hero of mine.
