The series finale of Batman: The Brave and the Bold ("Mitefall!") is one of the all-time great final episodes of any show. Animated or otherwise. It's up there with Six Feet Under and Newhart.

Everything from the jumping the shark stuff (complete with Ted McGinley!), Ambush Bug (voiced by the shark jumper himself, Henry Winkler), the metafictional musings on the end of a series and the self-awareness of fictional characters, the shots at the toy lines, etc was just brilliant. And that's the capper on three great seasons of the show (which, in turn, was at least the tenth damned fine animated show to come out of the DC Universe since 1991, putting it way ahead of Marvel on this front, which has given us X-Men Evolution, Super Hero Squad Show, Wolverine and the X-Men, and about twenty piles of mediocrity or utter crap).

Seriously, go track down this episode. Hell, go track down the entire series. It's the show that did the impossible and made Aquaman into a great character that appealed to everyone (and I say this as a huge Aquaman fan from even before Peter David wrote the only good extended run of the character). It's nothing like Timm and McDuffie's visions of the DCU in the DC animated 'verse of the '90s, but it's still a great show.

And do watch the wonderful Young Justice, which is nothing like either of those shows (or the anime-flavored and wonderful Teen Titans), but a good plot and continuity-driven show with some great world building that smartly uses a different DCU to tell familiar stories with nice new twists.
