You know how some people have a genetic thing that makes cilantro taste like soap?

I've got the equivalent gene for the "comedy" of Jeremy Clarkson. Hearing him makes me want to punch him in the balls, and that's when he's not saying stupid and racist stuff (in other words, when he's actually talking about cars). Clearly, lots of intelligent people think he's amazing (about half my FB feed, at least), but I don't get it at all.

Which makes him cilantro.

I know everyone's got their cilantro (or their "crappy fast food that people seem to devour instead of something tasty," or their "crappy generic TV show they watch instead of the good things that get cancelled"), but this is one that I just can't wrap my head around.

Anyway, here's my favorite Stewart Lee video, which is NSFW, and probably just as cilantro-esque to a bunch of people:

I love that routine! :)

One good thing I can say about Clarkson (and I'm not a fan of his, btw) is that he at least can take it as well as he dishes it out, as I've witnessed when he's been on shows such as Have I Got News for You. And, boy, does he have to take it there!

I LOVE THAT CLIP SO HARD. (I kept thinking about it last year when my comedy classes turned into a bunch of dudebros making rape jokes. I kept imagining them laughing at their own jokes in the Richard the Hamster Hammond way.)

Love Stuart Lee, Jeremy Clarkson is a wanker. I think he gets more of a pass in the USA because he has the English accent. People here seem to think he is lovable?

Poor you - I thought he was UK-only.

He became famous well-known via a car programme. When another presenter, Richard Hammond, was seriously injured in a crash, there were a lot of people who went 'What a pity it wasn't Clarkson...'
