Google did not do a doodle honoring Cesar Chavez on Easter. They did a doodle honoring Chavez on his fucking birthday. The fact that the days overlap is coincidental.

Also, Caesar and Hugo Chavez are different people. And neither of them is Julio César Chávez.

Yeah, that's Facebook. The noise-to-signal ratio was one reason why I left it.

My parents are from Yuma (where Chavez was born) and my dad used to be heavy into FFA stuff, so I grew up learning about Cesar Chavez. I love that Google went with him rather than Easter shit.

Far too frequently, this.

As it was sent to me: "Wow, 'conservatives' are stupid".

It took Freerepublic a page and a half before someone noticed that it wasn't about Hugo Chavez.

I must confess, I didn't follow up past that to see how long it took people to notice.

I mean, I would EXPECT there'd be a pile of deniers saying "No That's Hugo Chavez" and a bunch more just ignoring the issue, but I didn't check. I was only seeing how long it took before *someone* noticed.

If someone's Christian sensibilities are offended by Cesar Chavez... I think it's fair to say that they're doing it wrong.
