It's up in Doraville, at 5150 Buford Highway. The place we ate at was The BBQ Corner 2. There are also a bunch of Vietnamese restaurants there, and a lot of shops and markets.
I don't like Pad Thai in particular (not wanting nuts in my food), but I do adore Thai food. The whole reason we went for Dim Sum today was that we were all sick of Thai, because we've gone that route too often. Chinese was a nice change of pace.
what exactly is dim sum? I mean, I've heard of it, but I've never had it and have no idea what it's like. I'd love to try though, I generally like Asian food.
Think Chinese Tappas. Basically, a waiter comes around with a cart filled with little dishes, and you pick which ones you want. Each dish usually has three or four of an item on it. There's usually lots of dumpling variants (we had plenty of shrimp dumplings today, including a shrimp and scallop one and a shrimp and tofu one), pork buns, sesame balls (my favorite), as well as most appetizers you might expect in a Chinese restaurant.
At this place, small dishes were two bucks a pop, and medium ones were three. Worked out very nicely.
As you could imagine, Dim Sum is best enjoyed in a group. :-)

Date: 2002-06-17 03:49 pm (UTC)I miss dim sum - no decent places around work or Petaluma.
When I worked in the city, we went to The Canton - Deeelicious.
Come to think of it, I haven't had decent Thai lately either. I do make a mean Pad Thai myself.
