If I start telling people that "Max is a bearfucker," will they assume I've got a perverted cat, or will they think we have a gay male with very distinct preferences living in the house with us?

If not, might I suggest taking him down to the local low-cost clinic?

if he is neutered... invest in a spray bottle and spend a few hours stalking him and introducing him to the idea of 'negative reinforcement"

He is, indeed, neutered. So no worries of little cat/teddy bear hybrids. :-)

But yeah, I'm thinking of going the water bottle route. We haven't really needed it before (I mean, he's seven), but if he doesn't get the hint in a day or two, I'm going to have to get serious about this.

Hmm, you might want to talk to his vet, too. I can't imagine it would be much help, but I'm sure you're not the first cat-owner to deal with this...

Bears are a specific kind of gay man, usually hirsute and tends to be an endomorph.
