So, Shadesong woke me up at 4 because all the house lights were on. We creep out into the hallway, and there's Elayna, asleep on the couch.

We ask her about it when we're all "really" awake, and she claims not to remember it, and that she must have been sleepwalking. If so, it was damned impressive -- she had turned on her room light, the hall light, the foyer light, and the living room light. And grabbed the blanket from the loveseat.

Yeah, our kid is kinda weird.

We didn't get the goldfish yesterday due to time restraints, but she's open to the idea of getting two of them today. And she's no longer totally attached to the idea of another redcap -- whatever goldfish she likes best, she'll pick out.

And for the record, I'm very very tired. And have a full calendar at work. Bleah.

it's entirely likely that she did all that sleepwalking. my older sister was a major sleepwalker. actually she still is, which worries all of us because of the stress it implies. she managed some really weird shit. ;)

Mate of mine when I was a kid used to sleepwalk - he'd wander out of his room and go and watch TV, completely sound asleep. Then his parents foolishly gave him a different bedroom when his brother moved out. He sleepwalked out the door, took a right to head down where the corridor to the living room was from his old room - and fell down the stairs, breaking both legs. So, eh, you might want to make sure that can't happen in your place....

(I'd nearly forgotten about that...)

I used to sleepwalk when I was a kid. I'd wander all over the house (up and down stairs, even), sometimes waking up out of bed, sometimes returning to it. It was only when I woke up other family members that we even knew I was doing it.

And usually they were just amused, except the time when I mistook the trash can in my parents' bedroom for the toilet and peed in it.

I think sleepwalking is a heritable trait. When my granddaddy was a boy he sleepwalked off a second-floor balcony, landed in some bushes, went around to the front door and knocked to be let back in, returned to his bed...and never woke up the whole time.

Oh yeah it could've! They were a little amused, even that time. But those were the days when trash cans were still commonly made out of tin, not easy-to-clean plastic, and they didn't have liners.

Yup... I have a worse one...

One person I was dating had a nocturnal ramble in his sleep one evening and mistook my pile of teddy bears for the loo...

I witnessed during the aftermath of one of the more drunken parties a friend of mine get up, go over the the basement staircase, and let loose a stream.

Unfortunately, some other friends were sleeping down there...

My brother did the exact same thing during his sleepwalking phase. The most dangerous thing he did was fill a tub for a bath ~ all with hot water, no cold. My mom woke and caught him just as he was about to step into it, thank goodness.

i took off all my clothes and took a "bath" in my parents bathroom. no water. woke 'em up and they got quite a shock. needless to say, the stories at breakfast were enough to embarrass my 12 year old self a bit much.
