1. How many TVs do you have in your home?
Two.
2. On average, how much TV do you watch in a week?
Honestly, probably twenty or so. But there's also background tv -- Headline News, EspnNews, and VH1 Classic, that get played purely as filler.
3. Do you feel that television is bad for young children?
Television is just a tool, like a gun, a hammer, or George W. Bush. It all depends on how it's used. There are lots of great TV shows that help educate kids, and ones that entertain without imparting negative values. As long as Elayna avoids the crap that shows like "Adventures from the Book of Bennett's Anal Region" spew, I'm fine. She doesn't even like the idea of shows with non-cartoon violence or adult plotlines.
4. What TV shows do you absolutely HAVE to watch, and if you miss them, you're heartbroken?
Well, thanks to Tivo, I don't miss many shows. :-)
As for what I get season passes for, there's Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Andromeda, Scrubs, Slashville, Gilmore Girls, The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under (although I'm behind on that one), Arli$$, Malcolm in the MIddle, and possibly (depending on whether they stay watchable) Birds of Prey and The Twilight Zone. There's also a second set of shows, including most of the documentary-style shows like Biography, Foresnic Files, America's Castles, Justice Files, almost anything on The History Channel, etc., that I'll watch, but not religiously. And, of course, there's sporting events and other stuff. Plus anything cool that might be on IFC or one of the HBOs. Oh, and then there are the cartoons. We watch X-Men Evolution and JLA religiously, and we catch lots of Spongebob, PowerPuff Girls, Invader Zim, Fairly Oddparents, and Kim Possible with Elayna. And sometimes even without her. :-) And I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Like Red Dwarf, although it hasn't been on in a while.
