Gettin' the Band Back Together
Dec. 9th, 2002 09:11 amWe finally watched last weekend's X-Men:Evolution last night. And they got the original team back together! Iceman, Angel, Beast, Jean, and Cyke, (with Prof X, too)!
Anyone who's watched this show (which is my favorite take on the mutants in a long time) should realize how tricky this is. Only Cyke and Jean are regular field members. Iceman has been one of the younger students at the school, Beast is a teacher, and Angel has only appeared once before. But they managed to get them all together for a mission. Better yet, it's a part of a plotline that's leading up the the unleashing of Apocolypse, damned appropriate, since he was originally introduced back in the pages of an X-Factor team that was manned by the original five.
I was really happy. :-)

Evolution
Date: 2002-12-09 09:30 am (UTC)I think I've seen one episode of this and felt that Chris Claremont would be most distressed by the sheer lack of interest paid to any sort of timeline. Is there an official explanation? Otherwise, I don't think any number of Marvel No-Prizes would explain this one...

Re: Evolution
Date: 2002-12-09 12:39 pm (UTC)And the show deliberately chooses to not honor the comics timeling -- I can handle that. It's no worse than what's going on in, say, The Ultimate X-men, but the show seems to at least have the spirit of the characters.
