Megacon goodies
Mar. 4th, 2003 03:14 pmI forgot to list the nifty stuff purchased:
1. Lots of Heroclix figures (as already mentioned).
2. The Ice-Blue Jingle Belle variant statue for $3 (normally, a hell of a lot more, according to this site).
3. Grendel: Warchild, something I've been meaning to pick up for a while.
4. JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice. Bought it for $10. It was worth it -- a solid story, making good use of the history of both teams. But no way did it deserve the hardcover $25 treatment, any more than such other ephemeral JLA hardbacks as Earth 2 and League of One. DC needs to realize that stories that are worth getting original hardcover publication are few and far between. We're talking at most two a year, not a month.
5. The Dogs of War, the Paul Jenkins Hulk collection.
6. Various mini and indy comics, as well as the convention freebie of Astounding Space Thrills
7. One of the Games Workshop "Jack Yeovil" (aka Kim Newman) books (and they tossed in a pair of their comics for free).
8. Some sketches (none that we paid for, though). I'm probably forgetting some stuff, and I'm assuming
shadesong will cover her own booty (um, well, you know what I mean).
