A new comic, by Crom!

It's official -- Dark Horse's revival of the Conan franchise will be written by Kurt Busiek. Although I still held out a faint hope that they'd sign Roy Thomas, Kurt's the second-best man for the job. No word on the artist yet (I'm guessing that Barry Windsor-Smith is no more likely than Roy).

He's got an interview up at comicon, where he praises Roy pretty heavily (earning major points with me, especially when he calls for reprints of the old stuff), but no news on anything else yet.

Aaaargh! Why is Kurt taking on new comics? This, after that Power Company shit.... he needs to be working on Astro City, dammit, not some third-rate bargain-basement st00pid barbarian shit!

Conan is the archetype of barbarian characters. I'm assuming this will replace the soon-to-be-axed Power Company in his schedule, and that Astro City will continue unabated.
