Regardless of what you think of the war
Mar. 18th, 2003 02:03 pmThe military and their families aren't the ones responsible for Shrub's Massive Penis Envy.
One thing I've gotten into the habit of doing over the last few months is sending expired (or unwanted) coupons to military families on bases. Commissaries can take coupons up to six months after the expiration date, and given the generally high prices some military families have to deal with, it's a nice way to help out (and since it's still considered domestic mail, it's also something that can be done for the cost of a stamp or two). The page I've been using to get addresses is over here. Frankly, it takes so embarrassingly little time and effort to help out, I suspect the only reason more folks don't is that they (like me until recently) are simply unaware of it.
