Early Birthday thanks!

yendiGotta thank three folks already:
First, thanks to Karlita, who got me my card a record month ahead of time. :-)
Second, thanks to Penguinboi, who had three awesome early birthday gifts awaiting me when I got home from the funeral: The Evening With Kevin Smith DVD, the DK Ultimate Superman (now I just need the Ultimate Justice League to complete the set of DC and Marvel DK books), and, most siginifcantly, the out-of-print Pink Vodka Blues, by the incomparable Neil Barrett.
Finally, thanks to Ilana (who may be the only TH person not on LJ, but I'm going to thank her publicly, anyway, because she deserves public coolness points), who got me a copy of the latest Anita Blake book, Cerulean Sins.
So far, it's actually got a plot, and only one sex scene, not even gratuitous (although it didn't need to be so extended). And it's attempting to pick up some old, actually interesting plots (like Dolph, and Tammy/Larry), although I don't doubt they'll be dropped for yet another annoying but powerful vampire, or more sex with Micah. But for now, it's readable. I should finish it tonight, at which point I'll post my final verdict.
Oh, and I have no idea about the title. Other than a threesome on some blue sheets, there's nothing to explain it so far.

And when I wandered over to the local bookstore, I was actually looking for the JLA book- they had it a few days before, but sold it before I went back. I was so despondent over not finding the JLA book that I bought you the Kevin Smith dvd to make up for it. ::nods::
