I look forward to the day when technology has rendered this satire's points invalid with both anticipation and dread. =:)

MMPORPG, bleh. Micromanaging a computer life is even more boring than a real life.

Plus, you suck up all your real life doing it.

- the randomness with which one is given one's starting attributes
- the inability of all players to do "stat migration"

- the near-impossibility of some players to be able to change their profession, economic placement and/or region (or server)

- the total lack of comparable servers which a player may switch to when the pre-selected server boots you off or decides to capriciously negate your last action or even wipe your entire character and history

- the lack of player's manual (outlining contingencies, differing goals attainable for each type of player and shortcuts accessible to all players) that is standard with every game

Would that I could go back and change my character or create a new character that begins life with different abilities, different strengths and weaknesses and a different background.

There's something to be said for being able to risk death since you know you can come back and try again.

Ah well... SWG is only a mouse-click away. Then I can be a doctor, a dancer, a markswoman, a scout or a artisan at any time.
