Aug. 4th, 2003 09:20 amGrr. Woke up to find the DSL down, and Bellsouth apparently doesn't update their automatic status message at night -- I had to speak to a real human being to find out that GA was SOL. This meant that all the early-morning work I normally get done was shot. I normally not only catch up on LJ in the morning, but get a ton of stuff taken care of for work itself. Fuck.
We did get more of Elayna's room taken care of. She's coming home today! I'm so psyched! I can't wait to see how much taller she is, and how she's changed. And to get hugs from her, and see her playing with the new kitty.
Speaking of the cats, we took them into the vet this morning. The poor kitties were whining the entire way in the car. They seemed calmer once they were at the vet's office, though. They both entered their carriers willingly enough, but I think they were surprised when they were trapped. :-)
Oh, and last night's Sex and the City blew. Not only was it the first weak episode this year, but they need some fucking continuity cops -- Miranda was seen smoking pot less then two seasons ago, dammit!
(and, although I've got no fashion sense whatsoever, even I can tell that the designers hate Sarah Jessica Parker this year).
'twas nice to get another new Futurama, though. Complete with hypnotoad and yet another a cappella intro.
Now, I'll attempt to finish catching up on everything from the last 12 hours of LJ, and maybe even accomplish some work.

Date: 2003-08-04 09:05 am (UTC)The post-it breakup was truly the best reactional scene I've seen in awhile. I was *so* disappointed with last night's episode. I know it's their last season, but come on folks...keep up with the standards.
Also, while I've never been a fan of Carrie's wardrobe, this season seems to be especially tasteless. The girl's not pregnant anymore, put some decent clothes on her!
Futurama
Date: 2003-08-04 09:07 am (UTC)Why are they yanking that show, even after the emmy win? I suppose that on the upside, they get to end with a bang rather than the wimper suffered by shows that outlived their greatness, like the X-files.

Date: 2003-08-04 02:49 pm (UTC)I saw the very first episode and it just didn't grab me. I haven't seen it since.
but they need some fucking continuity cops
It's a problem with a lot of shows past the first season when they have multiple writers and the writers don't always watch every episode before writing a new one, they don't always know what's gone before. They need to hire a fan who watches every show and has good memory to be the continuity person.
And dammit, we didn't watch the Sunday shows last night. Damn.
