We're heading to Elayna's school for her registration, after which I have two hours of training, so I won't be online much today.

SO, to keep you entertained, here's my list of top five Jean-Claude Van Damme movies. Because I know you wanna know (and one of these was on this morning):

Timecop -- The only really good movie he's done. Still a b-movie, but a lot of fun, and it's got Mia Sara, and time paradoxes.

Sudden Death -- The one that was on this morning. A fun and surprisingly well-done riff on the Die Hard concept ("It's Die Hard in a Hockey Arena"). Formula to the core, but well worth watching at least once.

Knock Off -- Not a good movie, but remember who we're talking about here. Lots of borderline slashy interaction between Van Damme and Rob Schneider, and as someone who grew up near the Garment District in NYC (and whose mom made a living there), the plot itself was appealing.

Hard Target -- Van Damme's attempt to go "legit." It failed, and almost killed John Woo's career (insert your own Windtalkers joke here). In fact, Surviving the Game, made at the same time from the same short story, was a much better film. But this is still worth a viewing, if only to see Jean-Claude punch out a snake.

Universal Soldier -- yes, this really is the fifth best Van Damme film. Which should tell you how bad his career has been. Co-starring Dolph Lundgren (who, believe it or not, has done more good movies than Jean Claude, and actually made a better movie with John Woo, even).

Yeah, well, Surviving the Game had Rutger Hauer. A completely different variety of B movie actor there. He's like the king.

And yeah, I totally agree about Time Cop. I skipped the rest though...

"And he vas keeking de post! Like dees!"

How could you possibly leave out Kickboxer (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0783114885/103-9755665-4827845?v=glance) ????

I would put this at #2 on the list.....

If nothing else, Denis Chan is the best sensei since Joel Grey's "Chiun" in Remo Williams. :-)

One of the fight scenes in Hard Target took place right outside the hotel we stayed at the first time we went to N.O. It was painted an almost neon pink, hard to miss in the film.

The hotel was actually worse than the film.

Sad...

Is Knock Off the one we were looking for the other day? If so, where did you find it.

Also, I will be in your neck of the woods this afternoon doing business and thought I might drop by if that's ok. Let me know!
