The CA Gubernatorial Race
Aug. 8th, 2003 06:40 amThe Sacramento Bee has a nicely updated list of current candidates.
I do wonder how Arnie will do. I think he could win a general election pretty nicely, given enough time. I don't see how in the world he's going to convince the CA Republican Party (which tends to hit from the right) that his moderate/leftist stance on most social issues is the way to go.
I'd also find it interesting if a certain Libertarian candidate won, just so the headline could read, "Voters give Hickey to California."
Because that's what politics are all about, after all.
And no, I'm not familiar enough with any of the candidates -- other than Arnold, Davis, and Arianna -- to really have an opinion on the race, especially since I don't live out there, and thus don't have a huge investment in the local issues. But like everyone else, I'm finding the race (including the very existence of it) fascinating.
