It sucks when you wake up and have "We Built This City" stuck in your head, and can't find some entity to blame it on.

(except Grace Slick, of course)

Marconi plays the mamba, my ass!

Booting up iTunes right now for some brain scrubbing.

Gah! You two as well? This earworm isn't a meme, it's a frigging disease!

*Prepares to poke with a sharper object than a finger*

Doh!

If you can't get rid of it, share the pain.

Marketplace did an interesting story on this phenomena.
They called it stuck song syndrome, and they compared it to the
power of certain jingles. They didn't use the word meme, but that
is essentially what they describe. Of course they also did
a story on "All your base" and they did mention memes that time
around. :)

While lounging in the tub last night, I was suddenly attacked by a rousing rendition of the Oompa Loompa song. No idea...still have remnants rearing their funny little heads when I'm not looking.

*hums*...on rooock and rooooll...

I have the new MTV or VH1 Hits Cd that has all the Jefferson incarnations' hits on it and I get "We Built this City" and "Don't you want Somebody to love" stuck in my head all the time now that I hear it regularly.

Did you have your alarm set to 105.3 this morning? They're running an ad for Jefferson Starship's upcoming concert. It features that song prominently.

As am I. I heard the ad today over my co-worker's radio.

I would very much prefer to have "Somebody to Love" stuck in my head than anything with that Mickey Thomas dude. What was that thing on his head? A permed mullet?
