New cell phone
Oct. 27th, 2003 08:34 amI've finally become one of those people, although since my work owns my cell phone, I won't be using it as much as some folks (none of the voice mail memes, or anything else). It's a nifty one -- a Motorola T730. Color screen, nifty sound, etc. All good. The only problem? With every other Motorola 7xx series phone, I could just go to the Motorola website and buy ringtones, which then get sent to me via text-message. With the 730, I have to use Verizon's service. Which means that I have to log on to their incomprehensible website, look at the categories of ringtones (with names like "Ringster" and "Modtones"), and buy access to the software (which is listed as "one use for $1.99," which I assume means one ring from their set for that much money, but who knows. I might get charged for each call), without having any fucking way to find out what songs are in the library. Grr. I know, it's a work phone, and I should be happy with a free phone, and the coverage is the most important thing, but I'm still irked. Anyone out there use Verizon and know of any place to actually find a listing of the Get It Now tones?
