We've lost another of the greats.

He was such a nice and friendly guy, you know?

I was upset when Asimov died, and the other golden-age greats - but none of them ever knelt down to ask Elayna what her favorite book was.

He was always smiling, at cons. He was so happy to be there and meet people and tell old stories.

It's weird when it's someone you've met and talked to is gone.

Several ice ages ago (around 1968) my junior high school home room teacher lent me Mission of Gravity. It was a superior work of SF, and is now a classic of the genre.

I remember being at a Context a few years ago and walking next door to a rather crowded restaurant to get coffee. When Hal saw my badge he motioned me to sit at his table. Even though he was tired (his flight had been delayed) he was..hmm..gracious is the word that comes to mind..along with funny.
