I was talking about Keen Eddie with a co-worker, and that somehow segued into a conversation about NBC's bizarre start times for their shows (as detailed over here). Then another co-worker came out to bitch about how Friends fucked up her Tivo schedule. Then another one came out to complain. We soon had seven folks griping about NBC's bullshit scheduling. I'm not sure anyone in the cube farm is Tivoless anymore. :-)

Last time I checked the thread I started over at TivoCommunity.com re this mess, it was up to 140 messages.

Tonight, NBC has Las Vegas starting 10 minutes late and running 10 minutes long (so Average Joe starts ten minutes late, too). Fortunately, I don't watch either show, but I know there must be some people who want to watch both Las Vegas and C.S.I. Miami who are now pretty pissed off.

I have this problem with Cartoon Network. Sometimes they seem to start things a minute or two earlier than they should. And, unfortunately, telling the Tivo to record a minute earlier tends to cause scheduling problems with the Season Passes, since there's no "record until you have to switch channels" option.

I have to assume that, given another year or so, PVRs will be popular enough that *someone* will figure out a practical way of doing real-time schedule updates. Especially given the number of them that can be networked in some way anymore.
