Long Day

Four hours of meetings in a row is cause for me to hate Wednesdays. The fact that one meeting had a person who's a combination of Loud Harold and that one guy that the Warners met on Animaniacs who told that one story that went on forever didn't help.

So yeah, way behind, having a long day. Which is why I'm cautious about getting as post-crazy as I did yesterday, as catching up then sucks.

But with a nice Amazon gift certificate in hand, I splurged on a bunch of things I sorely needed. So in whatever fuckload of days it takes them to ship, I'll have some neat stuff. Oh, and both Ginger Snaps 2 and Gilmore Girls Season 1 (and if there are two more logical companion DVDs, I don't know what they are) are available for pre-order from Amazon! Yay!

And last night, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong finally spent the gift from her department, and we now have Babylon 5 Season 4 and Firefly! Woohoo!

I also found out that I'll be getting an ARC of a book I'm really excited about. Which is a good thing. :-)

Also watched Chicago again last night ([livejournal.com profile] bpjohnson hadn't seen it yet). Gets better each time I watch it. Rob Marshall was truly cheated -- aside from the whole not-being-a-rapist thing, he also took a play that shouldn't have adapted well to the screen, and did an amazing job with it.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's gift for me from Arisia arrived yesterday. A nifty, hefty morningstar (ball and chain). The cats were both intrigued by it. :-) (oh, and no, it's not something that'll be sitting in plain sight for when guests come over, since I don't want Elayna getting near it). I need to carry this with me the next time I'm in an annoyingly crowded mall.

And finally, for any eBay sellers, check out today's New York Times, which provides some nice cautionary tales for those who don't check their spelling when putting stuff up for auction (a quick search found an older "appel" imac going for under $60, Seafarers of "Cataan" with the expansion, and some "Warhamer" games).

I always wanted to walk through the mall wearing a leather jacket adorned with pointy metal spikes.
Glad I'm not alone in my sentiment. :)

The Talker, was Pip. He had whole, long name, but he wanted the Warners to call him that.

And now I need a bologna and cheese ball sandwich.
