mmm. Sushi
Feb. 20th, 2004 11:20 pmSo, the original plan for tonight was to get Elayna together with
irana lovely little one for sushi and a movie. However, since time was not on our side for a movie, we just went for sushi, and went to Ru-Sans's.
Quick note for non-Atlanta folks: Ru-Sans has about 300 types of sushi. Every traditional dish known to man, plus tons of innovative stuff. I discover something new every time I go there.
I ate a lot. :-)
Tonight's meal included garlic rolls (literally nothing but garlic inside the seaweed and rice), hamachi nigiri, ginger tuna, escargot (the "French Connection" roll), and a baked scallop and sauce roll (the "Jana Moon," I think). As well as shrimp and unagi tempura. Was very yummy. And now my breath smells of garlic.
Elayna had her usual crabsticks, but she also tried two pieces of shrimp tempura. Go her!
shadesong found a veggie fried rice that she liked, too.
irana's daughter had a ton of stuff, and decided to remodel the one disgusting roll into a "sushi bomb," whose ingredients included just about everything else on the table.
shadesong wrote down a list of ingredients, which I'm sure she'll post tomorrow.
At the end of the night, the kids got to watch a table do sake bombs. Afterwards, Elayna commented on the "green tea falling into the beer." We explained that it wasn't anything quite as healthy. :-)
A good night overall.
