A few good things

1. To go with the copy of Love Actually I won last week, I got a copy of Eurotrip (the unrated version) in the mail yesterday from ExtraTV. Woot!

(Incidentally, these two DVDs are the first two I've gotten in the new clip-case DVD holder. It's a pain in the arse, frankly, although it does seem more solid than the traditional snapcases.)

2. A nice thing about both shadesong and Elayna being gone is that I can sleep with the door open, and thus have the cats with me when I sleep. So far, they've done nothing to cause me to have to kick them out of the room.

3. I finally completed my Weird Al Polka Collection with "The Hot Rocks Polka," which had somehow been missing from my iTunes playlist.

4. There's a Shirley Jackson Book Cover Project. Which is proof that the world's not as bad as I sometimes think.

5. Tonight (or early tomorrow morning), when I make it home, I can watch celebrities playing poker! Woohoo!

6. The new Alexander Irvine novel is not only much better than his first (which I consider overrated), but it's definitely aimed squarely at the Tim Powers crowd.

Umm, that's all. And I'll probably be offline starting pretty soon.

i read the lottery and liked it quite a bit. i gather that it was the title story in a short story collection (this cover (http://www.rockin-r.net/~karl/shirleyjackson/covers/036.html) caught my eye, for some reason). i'll have to read more by her.

Here's hoping and praying that the awful Star Jones is the one eliminated in the infamous first hand all-in they've been hyping since last week's episode. The only thing worse than watching Star do anything is having to endure another week of Dave Foley try to make jokes and fail horribly. Still...can't wait for tonight's episode.
