A discussion with [livejournal.com profile] shadesong about unbelievable movie families, which led to my remembering Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox as siblings. *shudder* Which led to my wanting to ask folks what the best song from a Michael J. Fox movie was. So tell me:

[Poll #317071]

Write in choice

It was this movie that made me realize that I didn't have to see every movie that came out just because I was working in a theatre.

I can't believe you need to have a poll about this - the answer seems like a no-brainer to me.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to hitch a ride on the back of a truck using my skateboard.

Now you should run out and read Michael J. Fox's autobiography, Lucky Man if you haven't already.

I don't even remember the movie. I just like the song. ;)

I'm more partial to Johnny B Goode, as performed by Marty, than any of those.

As if there is another option. Shame. :)

But wasn't Yello's fabulous Oh yeah! also in The Secret of My Success? (also featured in the closing credits to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, if, y'know, you were manning a colony on Mars during the 80s)

It's really interesting - I learned a lot of things I didn't know, and it was pretty touching in parts.

Was directed here by [livejournal.com profile] slowfox and needed to comment. Outside of the domain of your question, really, the song I'll always associate most directly with Michael J. Fox screen moments is "At This Moment" from Billy and the Beaters (I think?). It's a small screen song, but it struck my adolescent romantic heart and has stayed there. I still <3 the Keatons.

Oh come on! "Back in Time" was way better than "The Power of Love!"

hmph.

Well, the first time we heard it in a movie (http://imdb.com/name/nm0947402/) was probably Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

A best song from a movie starring the one person in the world who has no Elvis in him? The evil opposite of Elvis? The Anti-Elvis?

I don't think so.

Yes! I caught FBDO on TV the other day, and when we got to that song, I remembered that it had also been part of SOMS, in the limo.

Yello's Oh Yeah is one of my favorite songs. It's the lead-off song on my "pirate porn writing" song set.

Huey Lewis can't hold a candle to Jack Blades. I mean I love Huey, but Jack Blades is an awesome singer. The Secret of My Success also has some excellent keyboards.

The soundtrack also has some awesome songs.

Also, Power of Love has enough votes damn it.
