Monday stuff
Feb. 21st, 2005 08:14 amFirst, yes, Hunter Thompson is dead. That sucks. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. I won't eulogize him here - you can find folks much more qualified doing that elsewhere on LJ and the net. Suffice to say, his dying just plain sucks, and leave it at that.
John Raitt also died. And so did Sandra Dee. Shitty week to be famous.
Elsewhere, I watched my first Arena Football game in ages. Yes, this is what you've driven me to, Bettman and Goodenow! It was nice to see ex-Jet Keven Swayne kicking ass for the New York Dragons.
Tomorrow, my favorite under-appreciated super-hero movie ever, The Specials, gets a new special (ahem) edition DVD release. I can't begin to rave enough about this film -- script by James Gunn, a cast that includes Gunn, Rob Lowe, Jamie Kennedy, Thomas Haden Church, Paget Brewster, Sean Gunn (Kirk from Gilmore Girls), Jordan Ladd, and Judy Greer. And practically no special effects at all. The original DVD has been out of print for a few years now. Do not fail to pick up the re-release, which presents 24 hours in the life of the fifth-greatest super-hero team.
Hey, it's Trick-or-Treat time over in Kingdom of Loathing! Nifty!
Elayna is, alas, sick. Getting Elayna to take medicine is the sort of activity that, if it took place inside an RPG, would net you 1000XP. On the plus side, once she takes the medicine, her temperature drops drastically, and her attitude improves.
Me, I'm working from home today, attempting, futilely, to catch up on over a week's worth of missed work. And the rest of the week becomes über-hellish, as there's a major conference that we're running this week. Blah.

The Trick or Treat was great, although the Mr. Mediocre Bars left me rather, blah.
Yah, Lil Un hates meds too, it is like pilling a cat. Though Critter loves meds.
