No, I'm not kidding. Digital Media has a line of Astro-Boy titles in which he meets famous people like Anne Frank and Helen Keller.

I can only wonder how they'll change the stories. I can imagine Keller now saying, "Blindness cuts us off from things, but at least I can't see the giant tentacle monsters."

There are other characters, including Einstein, and, in a move that might forever scar anyone searching for fan service, Mother Theresa.

Of course, because everyone knows Astro Boy was all about tentacle monsters and fan service. Just like ALL anime and manga are!

It'd be worse if Astro Boy and Astro Girl swapped places.

If only Anne Frank had two annoying animated creatures hanging around the attic with her...

For two years, Anne Frank and her family lived in hiding from the Nazis in a secret annex. During this time of fear and oppression, one young girl kept a record of her life. In the midst of the tragedies of war, Anne kept her hopes for peace alive and her indomitable spirit lives on in the words of her diary.

Astro Boy and his friends take you to the world of Anne Frank as she experienced it; through her eyes.
I'm afraid.

Wasn't Beethoven the one who kept the chamber pot just under his piano stool "to save time"?

I'm having a problem imagining how they'll deal with Anne Frank being carted off to a death camp...

Hey Yendi,
Loooong time no hear friend! I don't know how else to get in touch with you, so here goes! Let's see if you can guess who I am: My name is the wall at the world's best Thai restaurant, I've lost countless hours of my life to card games and vampires, and have seen the flash girls in concert multiple times! Congrats on your marriage!
Adios

You'll excuse me if I say, more than just a little. Being that I'm reading a Kurlansky non-fiction book about life for European Jewry since the Holocaust, I'm a little gun-shy about such things, but honestly, that's strangely disturbing...

And the expression on Einstein's face certainly implies he's not happy about that. :)

So, why bother drawing such big eyes on Helen Keller? I mean, its not like she needs them or uses them!

Good to hear from you friend! I'm home now gagging on my own phlem and trying to keep breathing! I guess that is better than gagging on someone else's phlem...
You must send me your e-mail address!
Just read the first collection of Swamp Thing today, Next I'll try the Alan Moore ones. Moss encrusted goodness.
