Some of the better April 1 articles
Apr. 1st, 2005 08:51 amTidBits, a Mac news e-letter, always does a great April 1 issue. Today's is over here. Mightywombat, in particular, should get a kick out of the renamed Mac OSX 10.4 (formerly Tiger). "We knew those rumor sites would never be able to guess this one, not in a million years. It's not a cat! It's not even fierce!" said Jobs. "It's one of those cute little marsupials from Australia."
NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, showing water on Mars, is priceless.
Google is now selling Google Gulp (with Auto-Drink) in four flavors, including Glutamate Grape.
The Motley Fool, whose finanical advice has normally been against such things, has started a lottery.
Ambrosia, one of the better Mac software companies, has release Screen Cleaner Pro. They even got MacWorld to plant a fake review. The program itself is actually pretty ingenious -- Mac users should download it, run it, and keep using the computer for the ten minutes or so it takes to "work."
Teevee.org has turned into a celebrity blog site for the day.
And, of course, Kingdom of Loathing has finally given in and started selling ads. This battle sponsored by the McGriddle! :-)
I'm sure there's plenty of other good ones out there.
