So, we finally watched the DVD containing the first episode of House that we got in our copy of EW last October. And it was good -- damned good.

Of course, it's on against both Scrubs and Veronica Mars, which is proof that TV execs are all assholes who personally hate me*, since there are only about seven good shows on network tv period.

But damn, it's good.

*Personal hatred exaggerated for effect. HBO and Cartoon Network execs like me, and Comedy Central execs have lifted most of their restraining orders.

While Fox (http://www.livejournal.com/users/cscottd/19263.html), on the other hand, hates everyone. :)

I love love love love love House. I have a dual tuner DVR, which helps, and my bf has a TiVo. The amount of tv we're going to end up taping once we move in together is rather scary. :P

House? Is it about a house? What kind of house is it? Is it an evil house, haunted by the ghosts of some clever idea I can't think of right now?

They hate a lot of us. I've started watching House while the replay records scrubs than switching over aft scrubs is done. It's very effectively reminding me why I hate watching unmediated tv. I do find that most of the supporting charecters are not nearly as fully developed as house, almost cartoonishly simplified down to a few words off a dramatis personae list but the dialogue and the examination of larger issues of medicine in our society more than make up for that.

I adore House... But yes, making the decision of what to watch on TV on Tuesdays is a difficult one. Grrr!!

It's about a genius doctor who diagnoses (and treats) the patients who have unobvious ailments.

Does he make housecalls, then?

No, House is his last name. Dr. House.

Oh, well that's a silly name. I thought the show was about a house. Of course, for a long time, I thought the Sopranos was about a bunch of opera singers.
