Anyone else watch this week's Andromeda? Not only did we get tons of scenes with just Doyle and Rommie, but their one scene referencing Star Wars was possibly the funniest thing the show has ever done.
*giggle* yes, absolutely my favorite part of the episode as well. And...it was probably one of the best eps this season - well, IMO, anyway. Though I kept waiting to find out that the whole Rade being reunited with his wife was a trick or something...but songwind pointed out that that probably would have broken Rade and very bad ways.
In any case - I thought I had posted about it - but apparently only did so in comments to someone else...
*nod* I'd remembered you posting an Andromeda Spoilers post, but since I'm a week behind your broadcast (at a minimum, more because I usually catch it on Tivo after the week-delayed airing), I had forgotten to go back and read your post.
Given the weirdness of the syndication schedule, whatever station I use (and I'm not sure if I get it on a local or on WGN) gets it on Saturday night/Sunday morning when most folks got it the week before.
I think Sci-Fi actually gets the first airing, although I could be wrong there, too.
Doyle is a fifth-season cast addition (mainly because Lexa Doig was pregnant, and thus having Rommie walking around would have been tough), a new droid built by Harper from the pieces of Rommie. She's played by Brandy Ledford (best known in general for Baywatch, best known to me as the hooker in Rat Race).
As for Star Wars, no mention is made of it one way or the other.
I didn't see this episode, but the funniest andromeda moment had to be when the ship has been invaded, again, and captain hunt says he has a hidden cache of weapons or some such. He pops open a panel down near the floor, and pulls out the hercules sword. He shrugs and says something like "it's a long story" puts the sword aside and starts grabbing out some force lances for everyone.

In a nutshell:
Rommie and Doyle are ambushed by a large group of people:
(rest swiped from
Romy: [waving hand in front of her in an Obi-Wan style] We are not the droids you are looking for.
[enemies attack]
Doyle: [in an aside to Romy] What was that?
Romy: I don't know, but it didn't work!
