For the George R.R. Martin fans on my flist, he's finished the next book in his series, but (surprising to no one, really), it's no longer the final book. Which means at least another year before I start the series, no matter how many of you love it.

It wasn't meant to be the final book, anyway -- there were supposed to be six. Now seven. So you'll start it in, oh, 2011. ;)

That's interesting, because according to the publishers rep as of a couple of weeks ago, the book was cancelled. Not postponed, but flat out cancelled due to some fighting between him and the publisher. (ah, the joys of having a guy who's a manager at a B&N)

Enh. I've read it as far as it's gone. I won't be reading it further. Reading them felt like work, and I'm not a fan of having to work at escapism.

A trilogy in five parts? ;)

I like this approach better than short shifting characters, though at least it's not so bad as Jordan's ever sprawling series that never ends...

Yeah, as already stated, that wasn't suppose to be the final book. This makes me so happy to hear.
