Grr. They're releasing an unrated version of Dodgeball. Nine months after the initial release of the movie. Have I mentioned how much I loathe double dips?

Stayed home yesterday, as I was at the "use it or lose it" level of vacation, and was going to lose those eight hours as of July 1 no matter what. Spent the day cleaning up in the kitchen and bedroom, working on job app stuff, and dozing with a cat on my chest. We also went shopping, discovering that Publix no longer stocks my lovely "Deli-style Rye" flavor of Triscuits. Bastards.

Creepiest thing I noted while reading through the stacks of magazines: Stuff Magazine (shut up! I get it for free!) has a pictorial/interview with Danica McCellar. Like the interviewer, I've got a hard time looking at the pics and not saying, "but it's Winnie Cooper!" Other than watching Static Shock, I don't think I've seen a project of hers in years.

Really sad offshoot of that last point -- checking out the IMDB for other TWY castmembers, it looks like the only thing that Jason Hervey has done in recent memory (other than his stint on JLU as Dove) is exec produce I Want to Be a Hilton. *shudder* I believe that puts him below Todd Bridges on the "former TV child star" Walk of Shame.

Plans for the holiday weekend: Get crap done around the house. Woohoo! Maybe, if I get bored, I'll kill Diablo.

Danica disappeared for a while to get her BS in Mathematics. If you go to her website http://www.danicamckellar.com/ she has one of the proofs on there that she co-authored, and an "Ask Danica your math questions" section. She's a nifty person.

She's one of the fairly small group of folks with both a Kevin Bacon number and an Erdös number.

I *always* ignore the intitial release of any major feature. There's always a chance of a double dip, and if one doesn't materialise, Amazon will have the original release long after Walmart stop carrying it.

Don't bother upgrading. I have my review copy now and I should have the review done by the end of the weekend. But the differences in the Unrated cut are barely even noticeable. Maybe a few curse words here and there. Plus a new "joke" commentary track, which is pretty funny until they decide to let the Farrelly Brothers track from another DVD simply run over the movie. Gets tiresome....

She was on an episode of NCIS that was rerun this week (But pre-empted by Bush). I was actually looking forward to seeing what she looked like these days, since it was obvious even as a kid that she was going to be gorgeous.

She had a recurring role at the end of season 4 and the beginning of season 5 of The West Wing.

Did you know notice who Jason Hervey was executiving the show with?

Eric Bischoff. That's right, Mr. Hervey is still very "involved" in the "backstage" of professional wrestling. I won't be shocked if the winner of I wanna be a Hilton shows up on RAW.

It's IMDB! Jeez...

I know for a fact that Bischoff and Hervey came up with the original idea and sold it to a production company, yet still have interest. Back when there was plenty of talk about them doing it.

Hervey was going to help co-produce WCW as well... before that fell apart when the other investors pulled out on TV time cancellation notice.

Damn. Although I read what [livejournal.com profile] scottwrites mentioned, and was thinking along those lines just beforehand - What in the hell could they possibly add to Dodgeball to make it unrated? A golden shower? Oh, wait, Team America: World Police beat them to that.

(I realize that "unrated" just means that they didn't re-submit it to the MPAA after editing/adding scenes; it doesn't necessarily mean that there's a bunch of risqué added content that they couldn't get past the censors for an R rating. I think they are probably banking on the general public assuming that unrated = stuff the censors wouldn't allow in the big-screen release.)

And besides, we bought our copy of Dodgeball used, and if nothing else, we can always rent the unrated version if it's deemed worth watching.
