Bootlegs? At a con? I'm shocked. Shocked and appalled, I tell you.

One of my favorite stunts I pulled at a con (Megacon 2000) was getting a bootlegger to try to sell DBGT bootlegs to Sean Schemmel(the voice of Goku) and an executive from Funimation.

A very, very long time ago, when my friends and I were running the anime video room at the Atlanta Fantasy Fair, I contacted somebody in the Atlanta PD and said we would love for them to send someone down to the AFF when the con rolled around and bust all the bootleggers. (This was back when there was still an AFF, so anime fandom was basically limited to ten nerds, eight VCRs, some RF cable and unsubbed Dirty Pair movies.)

So I was told to confirm which dealers were selling bootlegs, and to then call the police and someone would be down promptly. The dispatcher to whom I spoke somewhat misunderstood what I was talking about, leaving me in the lobby explaining Japanese cartoons and copyrights to a motorcycle cop who was under the impression a fight had broken out.

I stopped really giving a crap about con dealers selling bootlegs after that...

Which means this "Star Wars Holiday Special" Limited Edition Director's Cut Extended Unrated Extreme Version ... is a fake?

And I was so enjoying the Burger King Empire Strikes Back Han Solo Collector's Glass TV commercials that were included in the special features.
