I dunno, it just didn't click with me. The drab gray look of it got monotonous, and there wasn't much to it besides the look. Sin City I thought was a much better retro pulp pastiche.
Which would be nice if there were more going on in it than that. Like, if it had, say, characters. Or a good story. Or if the non-color scheme weren't so fugly. I would've been up for a passionate tribute to all that stuff, but to me it was just graceless crap.
The movie has its flaws, but it's worth $8.33, no question.
Note also that you can pre-order (at a discount) the first season of The Muppet Show (yes, they're finally doing full-season packages) for less than $28 and Season Six of The Simpsons for the low thirties.
