1. Seeing that there was a new edition of Mark "The Other Guy Who Worked on Twin Peaks" Frost's novel The List of Seven (a book that I read thanks to [livejournal.com profile] morenasangre and [livejournal.com profile] farren, and that all of you need to read, especially those of you who are fans of historical horror and/or Sherlock Holmes), I decided to search Amazon to see if he'd published anything other than TLOS and its mediocre sequel. Amazon led me to The Greatest Game Ever Played: Harry Vardon, Francis Ouimet, and the Birth of Modern Golf. I assumed, naturally, that it was just Amazon confusing authors with common names, but the Publisher's Weekly review makes it clear that it's the same man.

That's a guy with diverse interests and talents.

2. While browsing around IMDB, I clicked off of Alex Borstein's Family Guy info and found out that not only was she originally cast as Sookie on Gilmore GIrls (and she's married to Jackson in real life!), but she used to be a staff writer for Pinky and the Brain and for one of my favorite shows that no one else remembers, Histeria!. Nifty!

3. There is a music video for the upcoming film version of Rent's "Seasons of Love." I suspect that I know the first link my wife will be clicking on when she gets home. :-)

4. There's also a teaser trailer for Saw 2.

5. A 2005 Ford Focus? A car thief's worst nightmare. [livejournal.com profile] deyaniera will explain why, eventually. :-)

"What are we doing tonight, Brain?"
"Try to take over the world!"

"Pinky! Are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
"I think so brain, but where are we going to get a duck and a hose at this time of night?"

I love Pinky and the Brain!!!! They are not forgotten!

I loved Histeria! One of my favourite bits they did was the Lewis and Clark expedition. Lewis, of course, sounded like Jerry Lewis. (These were the same people who did Animaniacs) And Clark was Clark Kent, as drawn in the WB's Superman cartoon.

1. That's going to be a movie. [livejournal.com profile] docorion and I saw the trailer in front of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Looks like, now that Disney's not doing cartoons, they've turned their focus to Based On A True And Touching Underdog Sports Story movies.

3. Seen it. :)

4. Because the world demanded it? Erf? Saw was 15 minutes of good movie in an hour and a half movie.

Yeah, we saw that trailer too in front of Charlie. We also, through a quirk of the projectionist, saw the trailer for Corpse Bride twice.

*big grin*

Pinky and the Brain was one of the best things on TV!!! And I also watched Histeria - I believe because it happened to be on at a time of day where I always had the TV on in the background while I was cleaning - probably on Saturday mornings. :)

I enjoyed List of 7 quite a bit, and don't recall minding the sequel too badly. I wish he'd do more. (Or at least a film of Lo7...)

There's a clip of Alex Borstein in the role of Sookie on the Season 1 DVD set. Interesting, to say the least...

In another weird twist of Gilmore trivia, Alex Borstein does occasionally make guest appearances as Miss Celine, Emily Gilmore's ancient and insane fashion consultant, all caked in makeup that makes her look about 800 years old --- when she's precisely two years older than I am.

But I had no idea she used to be a Pinky and the Brain writer, so thanks for that!
