And today's busy enough that I can pretty much promise that this'll be my last post of the day (and there was much rejoicing).

We registered Elayna for school today. Same teacher, better classroom computer, and what looks to be a more active PTA. Yay!

We all ate at Crescent Moon for dinner last night. Yum! Elayna didn't like her chicken fingers, though, and when her grandpa and I tried them, we realized why -- they were actual freshly-cut strips of breast meat that were fried up, instead of processed crap. In other words, they're actually good. :-)

A nice surprise when we got home: Amazon delivered part of our order a day early. We now own a copy of [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna's poetry cycle, Oracles: A Pilgrimage! I'll be reading that tonight.

I'm also helping [livejournal.com profile] jet_li_wannabe pack up for his trek to another time zone. So no worries about me getting exercise today. :-)

How do you feel about the early-starting school year?

Love the kid-hating-real-food story. Eleanor's picky in her own ways. When I realized that she would eat every ingredient of a stir-fry, but she wouldn't eat a stir-fry, I gave up. "Hey kid, you have to eat this food in a dead cooked less healthy form! (*)"

That does make it a pain to feed her in restaurants sometimes, though, and I'm trying to get her to open up a little about food.

And then of course there was the Tantrum For Tofu.

(*) No meat involved, obviously.

You think you will. I have absconded with it.

So do we say, "Fiver is reliable," or do we instead say "Fiver is predictable?"

I'm betting a Tantrum For Tofu is rarely co-symptomatic with being Coo-Coo for Cocoa Puffs.

You're going to be too tired to read tonight anyway. You're helping Mike(y) move.

Why don't we condense that down to "Fiver is sexy?"

*eyes you warily*

I get it first because I have to suffer my parents for 5 hours more than you do every day.

Unremittingly.

Is not. And y'know what is in the ketubah? That I have dibs on EVERYTHING while my parents are in town. And the week before and after.

You really need to learn to read Hebrew.
