[livejournal.com profile] shadesong and I just saw The Aristocrats. The movie was every bit as foul and funny as we expected it to be. And then some.

You will gain new respect for Bob Saget and Gilbert Gottfried. You'll hear Carrie Fisher say things about her mother that you'd never expect. You'll actually laugh at a mime. It's really that damned good.

Just don't bring your children. Or grandma. Or your dog.

I have no respect for Bob Saget. He was a year behind me in high school...

dang, what must you think of the rest of us who graduated so far after you?

Seriously, everyone I ever heard talk about him said he was an asshole.

I'm not being ageist; I'm referring to knowing his personality from way back when...

One of my closest friends of the period was one of his few friends, but their friendship has long since fallen by the wayside, as Mr. Saget moved on in his career.

I don't really know any others personally. I'd love to get to know Drew Carey and Robin Williams, as they are both gamers.

So, I haven't caught the flick yet, but how was Billy the Mime's segment? His stage show had me rolling in the aisles, but he didn't do the Aristocrats routine when I saw him.

I hope to see it at the end of the month, when it supposedly comes to Providence. I don't want to wait for DVD; it seems like the sort of flick that plays best with an audience response. Ebert didn't care for it, but then Ebert can be an old fart.

You were the person I thought of when we were watching it. "Robyn must see this!"

So when you were hearing about shit-covered dead babies being shoved up a woman's ass and shat across the room into the sister's vagina, you naturally thought of...me.

I'm flattered, actually. :)

My friend [livejournal.com profile] hujhax saw it at this year's SXSW and would concur with your comments. His comment about Saget was that he's "a dirty, dirty man", and he also found the mime to be much funnier than he ever imagined a mime could be.

Actually, the mime is a writer for Spongebob. But yeah, his WWII routine had him miming Anne Frank; Hitler's last days in the bunker feeding cyanide to his wife and dog; and the attacks on Pearl Harbor and Hiroshima from both the pilots' and ground POV. Nothing inherently funny in the subject matter. But it's a mime doing Adolf Hitler killing his dog. Damn, that's so wrong it's funny. In "JFK, Jr. We Hardly Knew Ye" he kept taking off his shirt, and in the bit right before the plane crash, he was miming reading an instruction manual in the cockpit. (So yeah, some humor there... still wrong, wrong, wrong on so many levels.) And I won't even start on his mime of an abortion, where he's playing the doctor, the patient and the fetus...
