Amazon's got the five-movie Planet of the Apes box set on sale for $25, 50% off the list price. That's $5 a movie, or about $.02 per ape.

Note that the set does not include the Tim Burton Crapfest remake of the original movie (which is out of print, but available for a buck or two, although that would be like flushing money down a toilet, albeit a toilet starring Mark Wahlberg and Helena Bonham Carter) or the TV series (which is fun, but way overpriced).

Tim Burton needs to get over hiring his wife for every movie he makes.

I am convinced he will not rest until he has crapped on every movie I loved as a child.

Oh, certainly it's the lesser of the evils -- just annoying (I also find it annoying that he uses the same actors over and over and over again: Depp, Keaton, his wife).

I watched the Planet of the Apes box set awhile ago (March 2001, according to this (http://www.montykins.com/mkins/000450.html)), and it's an interesting saga. If by "interesting" you mean "starts off good and then rapidly devolved into bizarrely terrible movies".

The weird thing is that the best two are #1 and #3. The second one is nearly as bad as the last couple, but it doesn't have the benefit of at least being bad in a new way.

Wait, why is Burton's version out of print? Is this some sort of community service that he was sentenced to?
