I think that garlic and bacon need to be friends more often. That's why I've accepted carbonara (http://www.cooks.com/rec/doc/0,1835,151170-226195,00.html) as my own personal savior. Note: oddly, this is not a Flying Spaghetti Monster reference.

One of the local sushi places has a fried garlic sushi that has finally convinced me that vegetarian sushi is still acceptable. :-)

It's easy to get a little sick of cucumber rolls and futo maki plates; I'm really lucky because the chef at the sushi place down the street goes to some effort to make me plates with some variety on them. Ginger and wasabi only go so far. I've heard there's a place in San Francisco that makes a papaya and avocado roll- I'd like to try that.
