Congrats to the White Sox, who won one of the more exciting four-game-sweeps I've seen.

That said, not exactly the most exciting series ever, other than for the historical importance. Anyone want to place odds on the Cubbies next year?

Alright, so we got the Red Sox, followed by the White Sox, then the Cubbies?

Do we have any other curses to break?

Depends. How are the skiing conditions in Hell looking? [/embittered fan]

I would actually ask this question: Is Nomar going to still play in Chicago? If so, there is no way they are making it next year. Astros are making a repeat trip unless of course they sell everyone off. As for the AL, I think we'll see Cleveland make it. Why not the Yankees? because A-Rod is going to give everyone on the team the Herp.

Cub fans know better than to *ever* place odds on the Cubs.

I will, however, give you even money that Sox fans will be insufferable assholes for the next several months.

I am all about the Cubs next year (though I've always been fond since I was kid growing up and we got WGN for some weird reason via our cable service).

I was happy to see Jermaine Dye doing well and getting the MVP; that was the only thing I liked about this Series.

I really feel it should be the Cubbies' turn, but I kind of doubt it will be. :-(

Game 3 was pretty exciting. If I had been emotionally invested in this series, I'm sure it would have driven me back to the nicotine. (I deliberately didn't quit smoking 'til after the Red Sox were eliminated!)

Almost nobody watched this one - it did even worse than the Subway Series of 2000.

That said, congrats on the Sox. The Cubbies will blow it, guaranteed. Maybe the Indians, who are working on nothing since 1954.

Not making it past the first round wiped the smirk off the faces of Red Sox fans; half of them were still insufferable even in September. And I say that speaking as a member of the Red Sox Nation.

I always felt that Cubs fans and Red Sox fans were spiritual kin. :)
