1. About as much as the common assertion that Shakespeare was Bacon. BC and Halloween were both influenced by Psycho, the Giallos, and other sources, but other than the phone calls, there's just not much in common. BC, frankly, blows on almost every level.
2. I think the wrench was a mistake, but I also think it's one of those mistakes (unlike the smoke or the reflections of the crew in other scenes) that also works, since Michael has never been opposed to using tools.
3. Hey, according to the IMDB, we could have had a Quaid as Bob. And Cronenberg got his from Jason, eventually.
4. Yup. Just an awesome scene. And a wonderful bookend to Michael's unmasking as a kid.
5. The TV edit also showed the word "sister" scrawled on the asylum wall, although when I first saw it, I assumed Annie was the sister in question (in light of the gravestone).
6. Yeah, but those closet doors are real tough for psychos to break through.
7. Well, maybe he was preemptively grieving for Annie. Or something. Or he viewed Loomis as the ambassador for psychiatrists everywhere.
8. Not to mention, he was the namesake for the character in both version of The Fog (which also featured Charles Cyphers as "Dan O'Bannon").
9. I wasn't aware of which part of the script she did, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. She also served as the hand double for Michael in the opening scenes.
10. I was shocked, when writing this, to realize that Loomis was almost thirty when she played Annie. That said, I think the problem is less with sub-18 year olds than it is with actresses who are so over-made up (and way too professionally done), as well as boob-jobbed up, etc. They just don't seem like "normal" girls.
